Privacy Policy and Data Processing

Last updated: 2026-10-15

This notice explains what data VidGrab Pro collects when providing the Service, how we use and store it, which third parties receive it, and how you can delete your data.

1. What we collect

  • Account details: email, hashed password, email verification status, display name (optional). Sign-in credentials are stored in your browser local storage.
  • Guest identifier: when you are not signed in, we identify the same browser with a signed cookie (uvd_guest, valid for about 365 days) to calculate free limits.
  • Video links you submit: the link itself, the normalized link, the source platform, video title, duration and processing status.
  • Usage records: feature type, video link, status and time. For downloads we record the client IP to apply the guest daily download limit. Rate-limit counters are held only in server memory.
  • Payments and credits: orders (plan, amount, payment method, transaction id or on-chain address and transaction hash, time) and AI analysis credit ledger entries.
  • Usage statistics: user or guest id, a random browser id, page path, referring site and campaign parameters, feature event names. Usage statistics do not collect IP, email or video links.
  • Compliance records: confirmations of the first-use notice (identity, video task, link, platform, time, notice version); the name, email, contact details and statement you provide in a copyright complaint, plus the handling record.
  • Bilibili session credential (optional): you may add your own Bilibili SESSDATA under Settings -> Bilibili credential so we can fetch charge-exclusive and other paid content you are entitled to watch. We keep only the SESSDATA value, store it encrypted, never write it to logs, and never send it back to you through any interface. Without it the fetch is anonymous and such content only yields a short preview.

2. Are video and audio files stored?

  • We do not keep video or audio files long term.
  • A downloaded video file is deleted as soon as it reaches your browser; files that are not collected are deleted automatically after about 30 minutes.
  • Temporary files used for subtitle extraction are deleted as soon as processing finishes.
  • When speech-to-text is needed, the temporary audio is deleted once transcription finishes; files left behind by an interrupted run are cleaned up automatically within about 60 minutes.

3. Are analysis results stored, and for how long?

For signed-in users, transcripts, summaries, key points, chapters, mind maps and AI conversations are saved to your account history so you can read them again and keep asking questions. They are kept until you delete them in your history. Deleting an analysis result does not affect accounting records such as orders and credit ledger entries.

If a link is restricted because of a complaint or a breach, the related analysis result is hidden from you and you can no longer ask further questions about it. You can still delete it.

4. How we use data

  • To provide video information reading, download, subtitle extraction and AI analysis.
  • To calculate free limits and AI analysis credits, and to process orders and payments.
  • To prevent abuse and to handle complaints and restricted content.
  • To measure feature usage and improve the product.

5. Which third parties receive data

  • AI service provider (DeepSeek): receives subtitles or transcribed text, the video title and your follow-up questions in order to generate the analysis; it does not receive video or audio files. Speech-to-text runs locally on our server and is not sent to a third party.
  • Alipay: handles order payment information for CNY payments.
  • BSC public chain: for USDT payments, transaction information is recorded on a public blockchain (available only on some site versions).
  • Email service: sends sign-up verification, password reset, email change confirmation and email change notification messages.
  • Source platform: our server contacts the platform hosting the video you submit in order to read the video information and subtitles.

6. Do we train models on it?

The Service has no AI model of its own and does not train models on your data. How a third-party AI provider handles the data it receives through its interface is governed by the terms that provider publishes.

7. Retention

  • Account, video link records and usage records: kept while the account exists. Download history shows only the last 7 days in your settings.
  • Orders and credit ledger entries: kept long term for reconciliation.
  • Usage statistics events: deleted automatically after 180 days.
  • Compliance records and complaints: kept long term to handle disputes.
  • Bilibili session credential: kept until you delete it, or until the account is removed.

8. How to delete your data

  • Analysis results and AI conversations: delete them from History on the home page, or from Settings → Analyses.
  • Bilibili session credential: delete it under Settings → Bilibili credential. Once deleted it is no longer kept on the server and no copy remains.
  • Account deletion or other data: request it using the contact details below; we will act once we have verified your identity.
